When a team of passionate mentors, coaches and aspiring trainers come together, the room has to
reverberate with energy, knowledge and brilliance. This is what the 5 day Workshop on ‘Training for
Trainers in Life Skills’, organised by E-ProF, English Language Professionals Forum, in association with
Indian Association for Life Skills Education (IALSE) witnessed. Along with bringing in richness of
knowledge, the trainers who came down from various parts of India and SriLanka brought in a great
cultural blend and multifaceted experience as well.
The workshop was organized at Trivandrum, Kerala, India under the leadership of Dr Kalyani Vallath, Director TES and Chief Co-ordinator E-ProF. The workshop was inaugurated on 28 November 2015 by Dr Abdul Rahiman, Pro-Vice Chancellor, Kerala Technological University who also gave the Presidential Address. This was followed by a special address by Dr Neethu Sona IIS, Deputy Director, Press Information Bureau, Govt. of India. Mr Prasad Jayasinghe, Managing Director at Emotional Intelligence Training Team Sri Lanka, Dr A Radhakrishnan Nair, President, Indian Association for Life Skills Education, Mr C T Farook, Motivator and Consultant in Mind Mastery and E-ProF Mentor were the others who spoke at the inauguration.
Ms Sunita Ranjan, Secretary of IALSE and an adept psychologist and life skills trainer led the 5 day workshop. From Introduction to Life Skills, to Techniques for Mindfulness in daily life, the sessions took trainers through the entire gamut of Life Skills. The topics were handled with due focus to theory as well as activities towards experiential learning. Below are a few topics that were handled:

• Self-Exploration: Techniques to Explore Oneself
• Empathy: Pro-Social Behavior

• Effective Communication Skill
• Interpersonal Relationship Skill
• Coping with Stress and Emotions
Dr. V.Rajasenan Nair, Social Psychologist & Former Deputy Director, NYKS Govt. of India added on to these sessions with his wide expertise and subject knowledge.
In the valedictory function on 2 December 2015, the participants appreciated the camaraderie and learning journey that they experienced through the 5 days.
As an extension to the workshop, E-ProF is launching our Distance Trainers’ Training Program. Through this participating E-ProF members would be coached in creating their own, independent training content and activities for their chosen fields in Life Skills.
